Bin Access

Each unit is powered by the metroKEY app on your phone. They offer hands free functionality with a self-locking lid to keep out unwanted contamination and critters. Residential Subscribers have exclusive access to our locking bin enclosures for household food scrap disposal. This provides a cleaner, safer, and more reliable environment for customers and site hosts alike. When you sign up for a residential compost subscription you will be given access to metroKey. Once you download the app (for Apple or Android), easily setup your profile. Use the app to unlock the bin and drop-off your food scraps at any one of our bins located closest to you.

If you do not prefer to use an app on your phone, there are three bins, at select locations, that open with a 4-digit code. You’ll receive the code when you sign up.
